Defibrillator Remote Monitoring

Technology.

Most defibrillators and pacemakers have a "telemonitoring function". This enables daily transmissions of technical device status, newly occurring cardiac arrhythmias and other medical parameters to an external server platform.

Benefits to your customers.

Device telemonitoring has been shown to increase device safety, improve quality of life and even reduce mortality in certain patient populations.

For heart failure patients in particular, this management improves the safety and efficacy of clinical care, as the physician can react timely and accurately to deteriorations that the patient himself may not even notice.

Typical clinical decisions out of such data impact management of heart failure medication, antiarrhythmic drugs or anticoagulation. Physicians can further optimize device programming and timing for follow-up interventions (e.g., cardioversion, ablation, device exchange and upgrade) according to their patient’s needs.

A close and long-lasting relationship between patient, physician and device manufacturer develops, where you as the manufacturer enable the physician to always be informed and competently on hand when his patient needs him most.

Our logistical service for you.

The challenges of professional device telemonitoring concern the diversity of transmission networks, server structures, transmission protocols and user interfaces of the various device manufacturers. This is further complicated by connectivity issues and an enormous amount of data. Timely data processing enabling rapid medical decisions is also important.

With a lot of experience, we can solve these challenges for you. Every working day, our specialized team looks at all episodes directly on your server platform or after transferring them to our monitor center.

Only abnormal episodes and device data - which we initially coordinate with the attending physician - are processed by us and forwarded to the physician. If desired, our team can also contact patients - after agreed triggers - and ask about their general health status in the form of a structured heart failure interview. Linked to the device episode this is transmitted to the physician for further timely medical decisions.

In case of missing or unsuccessful transmissions, our team will contact the patients to clarify root causes and, if necessary, repeat data transmission.

Our processes comply with the current requirements of the German Joint Federal Committee of Physicians and Health Insurers (G-BA) on telemonitoring in heart failure. www.g-ba.de/beschluesse/4648/.
