LifeVest Remote Monitoring

Technology.

The LifeVest® is a wearable defibrillator used to protect patients who are temporarily at an increased risk of ventricular tachycardia and sudden cardiac death.

The LifeVest® has a "telemonitoring function." This enables daily transmission of the technical device status, newly occurring cardiac arrhythmias and other medical parameters to an external server station.

The benefit for your customers.

Many LifeVest® patients show an at least temporarily impaired left ventricular function. In addition to sudden cardiac death protection, clinical heart failure management and advanced arrhythmia monitoring are also required in these patients.

That needs intensified and professional medical care. Even in periods of well-being deteriorations may occur, which - if not detected in time - can lead to dangerous deteriorations of the disease.

LifeVest® data contains a great deal of relevant information for this purpose. The vest records wearer compliance, the occurrence of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, physical activity and other heart failure indicators.

With these data, the attending physician can react promptly. This increases the safety and efficacy of his treatment and generates long-term patient loyalty.

Typical clinical follow-up decisions include management of heart failure medication, antiarrhythmics and anticoagulation, as well as the indication of further medical measures such as cardioversion, ablation and device surgeries.

Our logistical service for you.

The challenge of LifeVest® telemonitoring relates to the large data volume and the structured provision of this information to the attending physician.

With a lot of experience, we can solve these challenges. Every working day, our specialized team looks at all transmissions sent from the LifeVest®. In case of missing connectivity and unclear transmissions, our team will contact the patients to clarify the technical causes. According to physician’s preferences, the general health status can also be collected in a structured heart failure interview.

The information is processed and forwarded to the attending physician, for timely and precise clinical decision making.
